5 Things I Learned From Embracing Change Consistently
Change is inevitable in life.
You can either resist it and potentially get run over by it, or you can choose to cooperate with it, adapt to it, and learn how to benefit from it. When you embrace change you will begin to see it as an opportunity for growth. The worst thing one can do is not to try, to be aware of what one wants and not give in to it, to spend years in silent hurt wondering if something could have materialised—never knowing. If you want to be really successful, and I know you do, then you will have to give up blaming and complaining and take total responsibility for your life; that means all your results, both your successes and your failures.
That is the prerequisite for creating a life of success.
You either create or allow everything that happens to you.
Define your goals
It is extremely important to have clear goals well-defined goals because when you start to fall of track, you can use your goals to help motivate you and get back on track. It’s also very important to have both short-term and long-term goals. Create SMART goals (specific, measurable, relevant and time-bound.
The secret is to make sure your goals are manageable. Set realistic goals.
Develop a plan
A plan to achieve your goals is crucial. If you don’t have a plan to get to your goals, you’re never going to get there. It’s extremely important to have a plan that lays out the steps you need in order to accomplish your goals. A simple plan could be to start studying, improving your skills or practising answering interview questions half hour a day every single day, and then work your way up but don’t over do it.
Having a plan can help you achieve your goals and help you get there.
Take action
Just do it is the attitude you want to have when you're trying to change your life and accomplish your goals.
In fact, even if you don’t have goals and you don’t have a plan, if you take positive actions and you do positive things every day like read, exercise, eat good foods, be mindful, and sleep well; those things are going to have a general positive effect on your daily life. If you are struggling with taking action, try to remind yourself of why you are doing what you are doing.
What is the purpose of your goal? Why do you want to get a job? Why do you want to start a business? Why do you want to get in shape?
Whatever you’re trying to accomplish remind yourself of why you want to do that and that’s going to help spring you into action and help you just do it.
Positive mindset
Cultivating a positive mindset is one of the most powerful things you can do that will immediately change your life if you did nothing else but cultivate a positive mindset; because it’s going to make a difference.
How you view things in life changes everything. It changes the way people view you, and it changes your daily interactions. It is very important to develop a positive mindset through your daily habits and thoughts. It’s better to have a positive attitude because your life will be better. You can tell yourself to have a positive mindset, its about being self-aware. It’s about being mindful. If you recognise that you’re having these negative thoughts and you tell yourself; hey enough of that, I don’t want these negative thoughts in my head.
I need to have a positive mindset, that makes a difference; that’s what makes your life better in a huge way.
Supportive people
Find a positive supportive system; meaning finding people that support you and your goals. It’s really important to not let it be an excuse for failure. It’s your life, it’s your responsibility, you’re in control of your destination. You can make it happen, you can change your life.
Surround yourself with people who are supportive and can hold you accountable.
It makes a big difference.
Conclusion
Change is not a bolt of lightning that arrives with a zap. It is a bridge built brick by brick, every day, with sweat and humility and slips. It is hard work, and slow work, but it can be thrilling to watch it take shape. Remember, there is no perfect time for anything. There is only now.
The game of life is a lot like football. You have to tackle your problems, block your fears, and score your points when you get the opportunity.
Always remember: this is the only life you have, this is it; there’s no do over. Time is passing.
Stay mindful,
